- Research Description
Our research aims to understand the genetic controls of embryo development, particularly at the level of gene activity in the nucleus.
- Research Summary
We are interested in the actions of transcription factors as activators and repressors of transcription in cells, as well as the regulatory circuits that evolve to shape embryos, notably the jaws.
- Techniques Used
We combine in vivo experiments like retroviral-mediated transgenesis in chicken embryos with in vitro and cellular studies that, together, define the biochemical basis for biological functions.
